In 1960, David L. Smith Realty was established in Pearland, Texas. David Smith and his wife Frankie started the company. They rented the old Pearland State Bank building, which was located on the corner of FM 518 and SH 35. It was the perfect location for an active real estate company.

The 1960's were an exciting time for Pearland with the opening of NASA in the Clear Lake area and downtown Houston becoming a real player in the oil and gas industry. More and more people were moving to the area to take jobs in the space exploration area as well as the Texas Medical Center and the many job opportunities in Houston.

David L. Smith Realty was responsible for buying and developing several subdivisions in the 60's including Regency Park and Sherwood on East FM 518, West Lea on FM 1128, and in the early 70's, Green Tee subdivision which also included the city first 18-hole golf course.

Since 1960, Pearland has grown from a rural, agriculture community to a major suburban development boasting a growth of 100% in population. David L. Smith Realty is proud to have been a part of this growth and continues to serve the community in the fields of residential and commercial real estate, land development, and consulting services.  January 1, 2008 David L. Smith and Frankie Smith's daughter, Susan S. Lenamon, acquired the family business.  Susan now carries the torch and is committed to carry on the family tradition.
